away in southern coastal New Jersey lies a town steeped in history,
yet alive with year-round excitement and fun! This is where you'll find
Waretown! From its bayfront location directly across from the Barnegat
Inlet, the many marinas here offer direct access to deep-sea fishing
in the Atlantic Ocean. Private charters are available for half day to
multi-day excursions to catch that tuna, swordfish or shark! For the
less daring, the calm and mostly shallow waters of the Barnegat Bay
offer up crabs, clams, and an assortment of fish for anglers! Rentals
of canoes, kayaks, rowboats and jet skis are available along the coastal

Waretown,
politically known as Ocean township, is also located within the Pinelands
National Reserve, and is home to miles of hiking and biking
trails. The Barnegat
Branch Rail Trail, a hiking/biking trail the rail located along
the bed of the defunct Barnegat branch of the old Central Railroad of
New Jersey, also passes through Waretown parallel to Route 9, a north-south

Park is located in Waretown and contains over 900 acres, including miles
of hiking trails and a cedarstream-fed lake perfect for canoeing!
